About Us
Project Pulse is a student-led public health initiative focused on advancing community health literacy through accessible, grassroots education.
Project Pulse began in 2024 after identifying a gap in CPR, first-aid, and cardiac emergency literacy, particularly among communities with limited access to practical health education. The initiative was founded to bring this knowledge directly into schools and communities, with an emphasis on building health education from the grassroots level.
Since its founding, Project Pulse has expanded from its initial focus on CPR and first-aid literacy to broader health education, including emergency preparedness, CPR and AED awareness, and nutrition outreach. Through school and community-based education, Project Pulse works to make essential health knowledge accessible, understandable, and actionable.

Rishika Gautham | Founder & Director
Hi! My name is Rishika, and I attend Stratford Preparatory Blackford in the Bay Area. I am the Founder and Director of Project Pulse. My interest in CPR and first-aid literacy grew personal experiences with cardiac emergencies that led to my competing in CPR & First Aid in HOSA, which introduced me to the broader disparities in access to this knolwedge.
As I learned more about these literacy gaps, I became interested in what could be done at the grassroots level, particularly through schools and community education. This curiosity ultimately led me to found Project Pulse. As Project Pulse has grown, so have my interests, from emergency preparedness and health literacy to nutrition, public health, and biomedical research.
Today, I channel my passion for public health through Project Pulse, exploring how health knowledge can be made more accessible and meaningful to the communities around me.
